PREVIOUS THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY

July 12 2021 to July 18 2021

Monday July 12

Dreams and Schemes

Following the Cancerian New Moon, with Mars and Venus converging, a lyric by Sixties icon Joni Mitchell captures the celestial energy. She sang: "Tears and fears and feeling proud, to say 'I love you' right out loud; dreams and schemes and circus crowds, I've looked at life that way." Despite the unruly, swirling emotions threatening to clutter our thoughts, we can find ways to look at life with new perspective, see both sides of arguments, and see through the clouds towards a brighter horizon.

Tuesday July 13

Purposeful Living

They say pride comes before a fall. But there are certain things we shouldn't feel ashamed of celebrating. Who we are is one thing. Who and what we love is another. The great Dolly Parton, who prides herself on her appearance, understood the importance of 'finding out who you are and doing it on purpose'. As Venus and Mars converge under the spotlight of Leo, there's nothing wrong with being loud, proud and passionate. Without being overbearing, we can afford to show how much we care.

Wednesday July 14

Taking the Cake

It's Bastille Day, and I've got cake on my mind. When Marie Antoinette heard that the peasants were uprising because they had no bread, she suggested they eat cake instead. Some historians think she was referring to a slang term for the charred remains left in bread ovens. But no matter the kind of 'gateau' she meant, she was way out of touch with the needs of the people. The good news is that, with Mars and Venus joining forces, we might be able to have our cake and eat it today!

Thursday July 15

Newbies United

My young son likes my wife to join in with his video games. Whenever she forgets which button to press, he rolls his eyes, tells her she's a 'newbie' and asserts his superiority by showing her how it's done. Yet, a few moments later he's calling her upstairs because he can't find his football shirt! Today, on World Youth Skills Day, it's worth recognising what we have to learn from the leading lights of the next generation. But it's also time to acknowledge and celebrate our own achievements.

Friday July 16

TikTok Generation

Yesterday, we talked about the value of being able to recognise what the younger generation can teach us. But I didn't mean that we need to figure out how to use TikTok, or get to grips with the latest slang! The cosmos is boosting youthful malleability: the ability to learn, adapt and transform who we are and how we view our place in the world. As the Sun moves opposite Pluto, if we can embrace outside influences we'll discover our own hidden strengths. This weekend's energy can be revolutionary.

Saturday July 17

Your Weekly Horoscope

There's a big difference between love and romance. It's all very well being swept away by a knight on a white charger... but if that means years of mucking out stables and polishing armour, it could be less than ideal! Real love isn't about grand gestures. It's the small acts of care that make a difference to everyday life. We all sometimes dream about an external force coming along to transform our world. This week, as Venus enters Virgo and opposes Jupiter, little things will make the greatest impact.

Remember, your Love Forecast today does not just cover romance. A love forecast may also have something to say about your family life, your closest friendships and even some of your most important working relationships.
