| Name That Planet
 Your response forum
A big thank you to everyone who wrote.

We have been bowled over by your response to our appeal to suggest a name for
the new planet discovered by Larry Wasserman and his team of astronomers at
Arizonas Lowell Observatory.
Well over 1,000 of you have written to Jonathan with your ideas.
The planet, currently identified only as 2001 KX76, is in a region of the
outer reaches of the solar system known as the Kuiper Belt. The frozen rock
has a diameter of at least 1,200 kilometers (745 miles), much larger than
Ceres, a similar colossal boulder discovered in 1801 by Italian astronomer
Giuseppe Piazzi. Ceres, which resides in the main asteroid belt between Mars
and Jupiter, has a diameter of about 950 kilometers (590 miles).
KX76 is four billion miles away, 43 times the distance between the Earth and
the Sun. It has an elliptical orbit much like that of its nearest planetary
neighbour, Pluto. Its a colossal boulder of rock and ice, probably left over
from the formation of the solar system.Your choice of name may also be
influenced by the fact that the new planet is at 5degrees of Sagittarius
It may be year or more before KX76 is officially named. A committee of
scientists will eventually meet to discuss proposals. These can come from
absolutely anyone - but preference is always given to the ideas of the people
who first discovered the planet. Larry Wasserman and his Lowell Observatory
colleague Bob Millis say they have so far given little thought to naming this
object. But they would like to hear suggestions from you.
Objects in the Kuiper Belt are traditionally given mythological names
associated with creation. The next largest known Kuiper Belt Object, is
Varuna (diameter 560 miles). It was named after the Indian god of oceans and
water.
Jonathan will give a free 2002 chart reading for the 20 most apt or amusing
suggestions and, though we can't guarantee they will be accepted, we will
pass all our favourites on to Larry Wasserman and his team at Lowell.

Here are some of the names you have suggested so far. The first selection,
are from our UK readers, the rest of the list is made up of suggestions sent
in from all around the world...Please let us know which names you like best. [email protected] (with subject heading: name that planet)

In the aftermath of September 11, several British readers thought PEACE or
PAX would be an ideal choice. Other early suggestions included PERSEPHONE,
OCEANUS, PHOEBE - and even RUMPELSTILTSKIN.
Here are others that caught our eye: Gillian Bunce, of Kidlington,
Oxfordshire, suggests ENIGMA; Rose Coplestone, of Barking, Essex, likes the
name PHOENIX; PAN-HORUS (Pan, ruler of earth forces; Horus, Egyptian restorer
of immortal bodies), suggested by Karen Buckingham, of Weston super Mare;
MIDAS (a golden find), from Margaret Bluck, Yardley, Birmingham;
PERSEPHONE (consort of Pluto) or NEPHELE (the cloud maiden), both from
Linda Tilstan, Wirral, Merseyside; and CHRYSAOR (winged horse of Greek
legend), from Angela Clark, of Cleethorpes, Lincolnshire; AURORA (a new
dawn of love and caring, from Sandra Todd, Milton Keynes; PSYCHE, from
Suzanne Sutherland, Granton-on-Spey, Morayshire, Scotland; NIRVANA
(enlightenment) Pam Lewis, Swadlincote, Derbyshire; OPTIMUS, from Carol
Barnard, Croydon; and ARTEMIS (Greek goddess of the hunt), suggested by
Andrea Tolme, Sheffield, S. Yorks and Karen Dahl, Edgbaston, Birmingham;
ZERZURA (after a North African oasis), Mrs P. E Flynn, Ashton-under-Lyne;
HERO (a classical demi-god), Mrs B. Hart, Poulton-le-Fylde, Lancs; CELESTINA
(a feminine name suggested by intuition), Joan McNally, Dundee; XENON (from
the Greek, meaning something strange), Mr L. Holland, Annesley, Nottingham;
COLOSSUS, suggests Charmain Falode, Wimbledon; MYRMIDON (after the Greek
warriors who went with Achilles to Troy), Mawra Branley, rumcliffe, Co Sligo;
YARO (after Ethiopian god of creation), John Sherry, Coventry; PROMETHEUS (a
titan who stole fire from the gods and gave it to mortals), suggests Lee
Briggs, of Armley, Leeds; MINERVA (goddess of wisdom), Vicky Whitall, Eccles,
Greater Manchester; EROS (messenger of love) Natascha Gunnell, London; ADAMAS
(latin for diamond, as KX76 is made of rock and ice), Sally Corrigan, Ilford,
Essex; Mrs J. Blan, of Wigan, suggests SAPPHO, in honour of the poetess and
mythologys tenth muse; Ann Selby, of Haywards Heath, West Sussex, likes the
idea of TEHUTI, original name for the Egyptian lord of time and patron god of
healers; S. Pyke, of Shenley, Hertfordhsire suggests CHALLENGER, in honour of
those who died reaching for the stars and planets.

One of the first suggestions to reach the website made us laugh out loud.
James sugested CHUNKAROCKUS! Certainly original!
Here is a selection of other names (and the thoughts behind them) from
website visitors:
How about UNITY as the name for KX76?Anne-Marie Siudzinski
I feel the new planet is feminine and she is called HELENA. This is what
intuition tells me. Other names could be: MILLIMAN or WATERMILL (after the
discoverers).
 Lilian F. Denmark
Let's name the new planet VULCAN. I'm a Virgo, and I'm tired of sharing my
ruling planet (Mercury) with Gemini. I want my own planetary ruler! Please!
 Lu M., Newberry, FL
Due to what has happened to New York city, the Pentagon, the crash in
Pennsylvania and the subsequent events of patriotism and world wide
co-operation, I think a good name for our new planet is "PHOENIX", for out of
the ashes of disaster a new kind of world is being formed and it could
represent the beginning of a new era in our lives. Through out history
nations have risen and fallen, maybe this is our sign of rising to meet the
needs of the world.
Hopefully, the effects of this new planet will give new meaning to our lives.
One that generates hope for a brighter and more promising future for all
mankind!
 Marie C., West Virginia.
I think it should be called CASTALIA, because with any luck it will bring new
wisdom of how people should be treating this earth, because it seems to me at
this point in time no body knows and nobody cares. We all need more
knowledge and guidance, what better way to receive that than through a new
planet.
 Chantal J.
I see this planet in two lights: EXPOSITUS - Latin for open, accessible,
exposed. FIRMUS : Latin for firm, strong, reliable, solid I am especially
fond of Firmus - say it with me FIRMUS... FIRMUS... and in the little saying
of the planets it works well... check it out: Man Very Early Made Jars Stand
Up Nearly Perpendicularly... Finally...(or Freely, or Fun). Mercury Venus
Earth Mars Jupiter Saturn Neptune Pluto... Firmus... see?
 Kim M., Montreal
I had a very strong feeling that this planet was about love, that it will
bring love to the world. Not the kind Venus is about, but deep abiding,
comitted love.....world love. Something this world has never seen before as a
whole. So therefore my choice for its name is: HADRANIEL, the Angel of Love
 Linda P.
The name that popped up for me was PHOENIX. I hope there isn't a planet
already named that cuz if there is then I'd better study the sky closer. LOL.
The reason I thought of Phoenix though, was because I feel like lately my
life has gone from good to being burned in a fire to rising up to goodness
again, just like the Phoenix, living then burning to death then rising to
beauty in another life. Well, it's a thought anyway.
 Carol R. Sarnia, Ontario
 I think - HERMES.
 Olga S. USA
I was in the bath and thought about your report of the news of KX76. "I
wonder what it will be called" I thought. "It is called FABIAN" was the next
thought.
Just thought I'd let you know.
 Frances B.
 PLANET ZEIST

 PEACE.
 Sandra S.
Havent astrologers always said there was a planet (yet to be found) named
VULCAN?? Either way thats my vote. Have a great day!
 Rhonda H. Baltimore
 UNITY. You're the man...
 Scott S.
KRONOS (or Kronus, if it fits more aesthetically with VenUS and UranUS).
Kronos, Zeus' father, came from "out of nowhere" to defeat his father,
Ouranos, who had buried him in the depths of unseen earth, in Greek
mythology. This KX planet seems to have come from "out of nowhere", and it
may just be that it possesses influence nobody really knew was being exerted
 - maybe, even, over Uranus and Jupiter. Maybe!
 Noelle P.
 Planet is VULCAN
 Anita G.
Name that Planet "PEACE" - we know it exists!!
 Louise S. Victoria, Australia.
After reading all of the signs and the way the new planet might affect them,
I thought that the Hindu goddess LAKSHMI may best exemplify this planet. She
is the goddess of beauty, wealth, and pleasure and one of Vishnu's consorts.
Besides, there are many other traditions to draw from besides the Greeks and
the Romans.
Wendy M. W., Towson, MD., USA
Being a psychic the first word that I heard when I read your question on what
to name the planet - no "logical" explanation but I got the word "GENESIS".
 Cecilia C.
ATLAS - although it's probably already taken... it seems to require a titan's
name.
 Urthshu
 HERA, of course!
 Adrianne B.
I would like to name the new planet 'TARDIUS'. (Pronounced Tar dee us). This
to me denotes a new beginning and a new strength for man kind. Which is
quite fitting really.
 Hilary
Maybe we should try a femine name such as APHRODITE.
 Sharon C.
Name it SAFI which means pure in Arabic or Hashi which means bright or
shining lightin Somali (those are my parents names:-)).
 Zahra A.
As a Taurean I have recently felt as if I am reaching back through the eons
of time into past lives to bring forth those parts of my soul I have lost. I
would name the planet, RESURRECTOR.
 Meleasa C., AZ
I believe this planet to be one that is documented in the Indian planet, and
which was predicted to be discovered shortly after 2000. It is called RAHU.
So I propose to go with tradition, the Indian one that is. Call it RAHU.
 Rainer K.
TERRA - would be a good name to commemorate the beginning of
the end of the terrorism era!
 Charlene McC.
APOLLO. He started off a bit of a bad lot but reformed and became a force for good.
Maybe the world could follow his example.
 Jane S.
CERES. I don't know if this has already been used for a celestial body. Greek
equivalent: Demeter , goddess of grain, growing plants and maternal love?
Her discovery might just inspire an era of provision and nurture and an end
to hunger and testosteroned aggression. Think our world could do with a
bosom for a pillow right now...
 Nick B.
ANUBIS, after the Egyptian God who led people to safety and who was a
guardian who led the way forward.
 Joanne OB.
I'm not sure why but EQUUS jumped into my mind. Perhaps it's a dark horse
that's a late entry into the "race". Perhaps the symbol for the planet could
be an 'E' similar to the euro symbol but perhaps with 4 horizontal lines
instead of 2, representing 4 equine legs.
 Bogash, Scott J
I suggest the name PERSEPHONE, daughter of Zeus and Demeter, condemned to
live half the year in Hades. We have enough planets named for males. Besides
Persephone would represent the seasonal cycles we must go through on Earth.
 Gloria S.
 LEVIATHAN.
 Jim R.
Perhaps the new planet could be the fabled VULCAN - which could be quite apt
considering the current situation of our planet. Is a new World future
currently being forged from the furnace of fire? Maybe the true ruler of
Virgo has now been found (changing outmoded ways for the benefit of Mankind
and the Earth?). It would be lovely to think so.
 Karen Stuart
I'm putting my vote in for HECATE. Goddess of the "Cross Roads" whose symbol
was the Greek cross before Christianity. She along with Hermes ruled all
important cross roads in Ancient Greece. As the "Crone" that dwells in the
cave, she is similar to Pluto in her concern for the germination portion of
the cycle of life. Although I prefer to think of her as a kinder, wiser and
more humorous personality than Hades. To me Hecate is about choice and
authenticity. Going inside to become more fully who we truly are. The World
is definitely at a crossroad. Do we choose to explore our potential, or do
we continue to define ourselves by our roles, our nationalities, and
religions? Do we reach for our individual and collective creativity, or do
we shrink into traditionalism and hard lines of demarcation?
At the risk of sounding like a feminist, I think it is high time that we had
a powerful feminine presence wending its way through our solar system that
can take on the big guys in those outer rings. In this case, four to one
ought to create a fair balance. Hecate is quite capable of dealing from the
bottom of the deck if necessary. Hopefully it won't be necessary. Time
will tell, but I'm betting on the humans. I actually think the world is
ready for her.
 Joy A., Texas
Perhaps we could call this new planet PEACE, for the most obvious of reasons.
Whatever it's called perhaps we Humans could try very hard to get along
together. Nice thought anyway!
 Jennie T.
RHEA. Queen of the Universe, a great Mother Godess-mother of Zeus, Poseidon,
Hades, Hera Demeter and Hestia. The feminine is re-emerging for men and women
alike. Time to balance.
 D Bieling
YAMTOC. Yes, and more to come.

I listened to my inner voice as you suggested and reflection kept coming up.
In particular thelegend of Narcissus, the beautiful youth who was condemned
to worship his ownreflection forever by Nemesis, the goddess of inescapable
punishment. He had ignored the love of Echo the beautiful nymph who could not
tell him of her realfeelings but only repeat his words. (Again the concept of
reflection!)
Somehow this myth mirrors for me the situation today whereon a mundane level
the USA is condemned to look at its own reflection (how itis perceived by
the rest of the world) because it has ignored the true feelingsof others in
poverty or despair and misinterpreted them as a desire to be likeitself. On a
personal level we should all be looking inside ourselves to askhow we can be
more empathic and compassionate to our brothers, rather thanadmiring
ourselves and trying to persuade them to be like us. Therefore I would call
the planet - NARSIS
 Barbara L.
I just asked my 11-year-old son Sam what he would call the planet, and he
suggested 'CHAOSIMA', which I think is pretty good.
 Sue W.
Hi I am a Virgo born on guess what..... September 11th 1969!! Yes I am also
planning to move house this week after over two years without a home of my
own and yet I don't feel worried by whats going on in the world. For some
reason I am full of Hope for the future and think alot of good will come out
of the atrocities of perpetrated on my birthday. So I would call the new
planet HOPE, because thats what we need pure and simple.
 Neil Y.
As it's the tenth one, why not DECIMUS?
 Bob P
 VULCAN?!
 John H. B.
SPIRITUS I believe this is the Latin word for spirit. I do not know any names of
ancient Gods. Life, will, thought, etc., are parts of the meaning for spirit
Breath, or breathing are continuous thoughts that come to my mind, when I am
needing to remember my spirit, and feel joy once again, and peacefullness.
The joy of astrologers in finding this new planet, has increased their spirit.
So I think this name of "SPIRITUS" is most appropriate.
 Shirley L., Franklin, Wisc.
I am a Taurus and I understand that a planet I heard referred to by
astrologers as "PAN-HORUS" is the true ruler of Taurus. However, until it is
officially dicovered, Venus is the official ruler. Could this new planet be
Pan-Horus? Has Taurus' true ruler finally been discovered?
 Cindy V., Wilmington, Delaware.
"PAX" is my choice for the new planet. In the last six months. There has been
peace and emotional growing in my three grandchildren who we have raised.
For me it is a "good" planet.
 Flora C.
Being an Aries, working two blocks from the World Trade Center, and having
survived September 11, thru the grace of God, and the N.Y.C. police officers,
who saved our lives, and now, having to come to Ground Zero everyday for
work. There is only one name for the planet, and that is FREEDOM. Planets
appear in the sky, just at the time there suppose to. All that has happen to
the world is about Freedom, we must respect it, defend it, fight for it, yes
and even die for it, if we don't, life will not be worth living. William
Wallace knew that, George Washington knew it, Lincoln knew it, Eisenhower and
Churchill knew it ,and now the whole world is waking up and realizing it. Man
must be free to live and flourish in peace with one another. So when a new
planet shows itself in the sky, it ushers in a new time, let this be the
beginning of Freedom for the whole world. Let us call the planet FREEDOM.
These are my thoughts, Thank you for coming to New York .

This new planet for me would be the Greek goddess MOIRA (Fate). I've been
waiting for her for 25 years. I forgot about her, but then out of the
blue, and for the past 12 months, she has been moving towards me; she has now
arrived and propelled my whole life ahead at full speed- just as I like it!
 Milt K., Sydney, Australia.
ARIADNE - because she gave Theseus the thread with which he found his way out
of the Minotaur's labyrinth. Isn't that just what we need at this special
time? Also, being feminine, she is perfect for the Age of Aquarius.
 Beryl V.
CHAOS would be a great name. It's the word that comes up most often when
discussing current events.
 Sue R., Williamsville, NY
The new planet has been discovered just at a time when there is so much anger
and intolerance in the world. So many of the traditional values seem to have
got forgotten, basic caring for our fellow humans and the earth in general. I
feel that KX76 should be named NEMESIS as in Greek mythology, Nemesis is the
goddess of divine justice and vengeance. Her anger is directed toward human
transgression of the natural, right order of things and of the arrogance
causing it.
 Julie A. D.
I think the new planet, KX76 should be names EROS. We need more love on our
planet and what a wonderful gift to be given an new planet for our solar
system. It just may have been a gift of LOVE from our creator.
 Karen H., Purcellville, VA.
Here's my award-winning name for our newest planet. Ready? ABRAXAS.
In Gnostic theogony, "The Supreme Unknown". In Cabala, he is the
"Prince of Aeons".In Persian mythology, "The Source of 365 emanations".
Abraxas was the archon-ruler of 365 Heavens and acted as mediator between the
animate creatures of the earth and the Godhead. The word "abracadabra" comes
from Abraxas. Hope you like it! Came in a flash!
 K. L.
It is difficult without knowing the new planet's characteristics but I vote
ARACHNE like an unexpected spider dropping in and after the lady who was
changed into a spider by that goddess. Also it's female and hidden in a
mysterious way.
 Clare L. H.
The Name I have thought and following my feeling is: "RETORNARE DOMINUS". It
means "Return of the Lord" for the Christian world it has a deep meaning same
as of the New millenium.
 J. Romero
NUEVA VIDA for New Life. This came to mind for me because my life has been
tipped out, scrambled and recreated since March of this year.
 Janette L.
What about ARIZONIA? This would be appropriate because the discovery was made
by astronomers in Arizona. I meant to put the 'I' in the spelling of course,
to make it sound more like an astronomical name, and different from the
State's name.
 Musicoast.
The new planet to me is like a MIRAGE. That is what it has been for me. The
dream of my life has come before me for a fleeting moment and thrown me into
a fairy tale world and just as suddenly as it appeared it was rudely snatched
away from below my feet for a crash landing into the world of reality.

'HOPE' popped into my head, when I was feeling confused about what's been

spelling of that right!)

My suggestion is the goddess ORTHIA (she is also known at ARTEMIS). She is
the goddess of the hunt and of wild things. There are too many planets named
after gods, she would offer some balance.
 Sarah H.
Planets have traditionally been named after the ancient Greek gods and
goddesses of Western culture, which have come to represent - and most likely
always did - aspects of human nature. I could not think of an ancient Greek
god or goddess to represent what I see as being a shift in international
affairs, and my own psyche, over the last few months.
This is probably because I was brought up by parents who share a deep
interest in the philosophies of the East. Ancient Greek mythology was
replaced in my education by the Mahabarata, the Bible with Buddhist
scriptures and sunday school with Monkey Magic!
This made me wonder why our planets need to be named in the Western tradition
today anyhow. Philosophy has come to transcend geographic borders as has so
much else, including science and astrology. In fact, for me, the shift in the
collective consciousness of our world is an awakening to the pressures
brought about by globalisation - a watershed in the anxieties that have been
building due to the uncontrollable flow of capital across borders, that
inequality persists, that exclusion can lead to introverted communities and
fundamentalism and the fact that none of us have ever been immune to terror
and to hardship. For this reason I choose to name the planet GREEN TARA.
Green Tara is based on the story of a princess, Bhrkuti, who was sent as a
hostage bride to an evil king. Because of her beauty and her wisdom, the el
king was converted to Buddhism. As one web page describes her: "Green Tara is
a semi-terrific manifestation propitiated in order to overcome obstacles, to
save oneself from dangers, and to deal with evil in general" (https://www.holymtn.com/gods/tara.htm#green_tara). I suppose that what this
means to me is that sometimes an evil action can create a larger awareness. I
am a Capricorn and for me the stressful time that I have been under over the
past months has also been a means for me to recognise my limitations and to
discover capabilities I never dreamed I had. So, welcome "Green Tara" to our
galaxy.
 Ellie R., Brisbane.
With apologies to Wasserman, I suggest the name of the new planet could be
MILLISENT (ie named after one of the discoverers but also denoting it was
sent to mark the millenium).
 Karen B.
My new name for KX76 is PLANET NIMBUS, or HALO. I reason that it should be
given this name because the planet appears to be guiding us toward some kind
of physical healing of a collective spiritual condition (not quite the same
as Chiron's activities). The accompanying frequency vibration that we are now
experiencing is necessary to help see us through to this achievement. A
physical healing is necessary because many of us still require pragmatic or
'human' rationale for spiritual truths. This physical healing, as I see it ,
has, at its' base, a purely spiritual outcome. It operates, in the spirit of
the devadasi, as a healer that uses the energy of the kundalini - this
carries the capacity for mass transformation, but not without the possibility
of an overdose effect. While this may sound like Pluto's domain, I believe it
is even farther out (not just literally) than what Pluto (Scorpio) can do for
us - it is, in fact, an ANGEL, this planet (and when it comes to influencing
most of us on Planet Earth, Angels still need to use physical effects to
speak of higher truths!). PLANET NIMBUS, then, represents the numinous
experience of the psychic made REAL - the planet is a literal representation
of the non-physical body that surrounds every physical body, a measure of
which all of us, now, must somehow incorporate into our life here on earth.
Soon the day will come when not only those who are gifted psychically will be
able to see the aura, and when authentic 'holy-ness' will be an integral part
of our lives here on Earth.
 Kristin F.
Wow! I've just read the bit for Gemini, and I can't explain why but the name
PERSEUS just jumped into my head! Having no idea of who this was, I've looked
up Perseus on the web, and found https://hsa.brown.edu/~maicar/Perseus1.html
which explains, among other things, that he was an 'unconfortable person' who
was sent on 'a dangerous assignment far away' Also, when he set off to kill
Medusa, he wore the Helmet of Hades, and 'saw everyone, but himself was
invisible'. There's all kinds of other stuff about his return, which heralded
a lot of important changes, shifts of power, founding of a new city. It looks
like he returns after his long journey to right a wrong. Let's hope so!!
I swear I knew nothing of this before I read your site!
 Eric M., UK.
MADONNA, as she seems to have done most of the things it is suggested the
planet can affect!
 Julie L.
Suggested name for KX-76: NEXUS - a means of connection, a link or a tie.
Latin, from, past participle of nectere, to bind.
 Tim Croft, West Sussex.
 HOPE, which should explain itself...
 Jan C., Copenhagen, Denmark
How about calling the new planet CIRCE after the Greek enchantress who was
involved with Odysseus. In this poor world we could do with a little
enchantment at the moment! Anyway, with all the planets except Venus named
after the male deities, we could do with another female to balance things out
a bit!
 Jenny C.
How about METIS - (the great mother) to represent the power of the rise in
the universal connectiveness, increasing respect for nature and the great
resurgence of the feminine essence in us all that seems to be at the core of
this opportunity for the world. It might sound a bit politically incorrect
but maybe the story with Afghanistan is that after this time of destruction,
it will be rebuild a society that nurtures its women and the feminine
principle in life more profoundly.
 Barb H.
KX76 should be named GNASH. It is a very evocative name and from the
descriptions attached about the effects on all our lives, regardless of which
sign we are, it is most appropriate.
 Nadia J., Sydney, Australia
Since the planet has been discovered by Millis and Wasserman (Wassermann, I
believe, is the German name for the sign of Aquarius) it would be pertinent
to assign the planet to that sign considering Aquarius is a water bearer
(carrying water without actually being a water sign) just like a millstone
carrying water. Although I believe Uranus is the more appropriate planet
its just as "unusual" as the people it rules. Its name - "ZENA".
 Hilda F.
How about KUPID. Does that sound stupid?
 Jean Ennis
When you mentioned KX76 the first time, my inner eye saw PEGASUS. Pegasus is
also one of the spiritual Energy Centers (Chakra), which relates to the
Hypothalamus. There are more interesting connections in relations with
Pegasus. Therefore, my suggestion would be Pegasus for the newly discovered
planet.
 Laila P., New Jersey.
I think this new planet should be called NEMESIS. Given the 20th Century and
how 21st Century is starting with the bombardment by the Coalition of
Afghanistan and perhaps other countries, it is good for us as a human
community to remember that nothing happens in a vacum, what happpens
yesterday or today inevitably leads us to tomorrow. Therefore, naming the new
planet Nemesis is a good way for us humans to remember that every action we
do, both positive and negative will inevitably effect everyone of us, there
is no escaping or forgetting it, and we have to live with the consequences of
each individal action we perform, be they positive or negative.
 Hansarduk
LIAHONA I am a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints,
and the Liahona was a device sent to Lehi by the lord to guide Lehi and his
family through the wilderness. So I sat as you suggested, quietly and
contemplated this great big planet, and just got this wonderful feeling that
it is here to guide us.
 C. C.
I suggest PSYCHE, the greek mythological character who had to go through a
long process to become the best person -- therefore, the best partner - she
could be for Eros. Psyche is about self-actualization through personal
effort to reach a self-determined goal: a good analogy for our times, I think!
 Cate
I believe the new planet should be named ATLANTIS. The long lost planet.
 Kathy S.
 GENIUS
 Lilian
I would like to call KX76 'PSYCHE', because it is the Greek word for 'soul',
and it seems that this is the part of ourselves that we need to connect with
at the moment, to find faith and hope, and meaning in our lives. I know
there's already an asteroid called this - does this matter? Another idea
would be to call it 'POTTER', (or HARRY) as this character has had an
influence on millions, and we can learn something from him about bravery,
friendship, etc.
 Sue W.
Name the planet CERRONE. this was my dogs name and he had a great influence
on my life...he was GREAT!
 Colleen R.
I'd like to name the planet HERMES, the son of Zeus who was appointed
messenger from the Gods. His brother Apollo gave him the power of divination
which he would teach to mortals. He protects travellers and is a guide to all
